Training 17
April 2016 ERC Net AD7HL
Tonight
I have a short training and also some ERC Net business to present to you.
I
would like to start with the subject of Etiquette on a Net—Specifically our ERC
Net.
It
is common courtesy on a net to tune into the net frequency at the beginning of
a net (in our case by 8:30 p.m.) By being
on time:
1.
We
are all there for the announcements, and can ask for clarifications.
2.
We
can listen to the training that has been prepared on subjects that ham and ERC
radio operators need to know and understand.
3.
If
you are late, please wait until after the net to ask about announcements or
training you missed. Please use
phonetics when checking in late. Being
late is sometimes unavoidable—but should not become a habit.
We
need to stay tuned in for the entire net.
This helps us hear other members on the net, learn their voices and
learn to be part of the ERC team. (You
may have heard other nets where a person is recognized by their voice
alone—they have checked in enough to be a recognize member of the team).
1.
If
you cannot stay for the entire net, please ask net control to be excused when
you check in.
